Panthers behavior

This Web page presents information on the behavior of the Florida Panther.

Panthers are territorial and solitary animals and are most active during dusk and dawn. They rest during the heat of day. The males have a home range of 200 miles and the females only a range of 75 miles. They leave territorial markings like track, tree and earth scrapes, kills, and scats. Panthers when they kill they hide the animal under leaves after they have eaten. Panthers prefer being away from humans and go to secluded environments.
